It smells of charade…

…the aftermath of Alito’s Flag Days, with the continued pitting of the Republican nationalist side against the Democrat’s “democratic” one in congress, state offices, and communities. Draws more votes to the two wings (Democrat, Republican) of what’s realistically one party, and away from other parties. The sowed division and tension draws votes to the two wings. Democrats effectively selected Trump and the current Repub wing originally, by knowingly running their weak candidate (H Clinton) rather than their strong one (Sanders) against him. And currently they pose to complain/request meeting with the chief justice about his subordinate justice flying what are essentially Republican flags on his properties. All the drama and violence (capital riot, televised impeachment hearings, threats to officials and judges, witness intimidation/tampering, assault of a politician’s spouse, a mostly Republican supreme court, etc.), just so the Dem and Repub wings can put on their little performances to keep their “parties” funded by injecting division between their supporters, charging them up to secure their votes. Then again maybe instead of posing, all the drama and violence result from honest incompetence of the Dems back when they insisted on running H Clinton in that general election. In a sense there’s simply two conceptual models to choose from: one model pinning incompetence on one wing (Dems protecting their fundraising by spitting out their strong candidate), and one model pinning manipulation on both wings (Dems and Repubs), who are posing as two separate parties. Surely there are other models though, other conceptual routes to the current result.
